Brutalist Welded Nail and Bronze Wall Art Sculpture
This is a Brutalist sculpture I made from antique square nails salvaged from the Old Globe grain elevator in Superior WI. Since they are all well over 100 years old there is visible rust, and some are bent.
After welding all of the nails together I covered all of the welds with bronze.
I added accent pieces of rusty steel and stainless steel to provide a contrasting look.
It is about 36″ long, and about 26″ wide. I used broken nails to create 3 attachment points that hold the sculpture about 2″ off the wall. It weighs about 6 lbs.
It can be hung vertically or horizontally using the 3 attachment points.
